Josué Rivas (Mexica and Otomi) is an Indigenous Futurist, creative director, visual storyteller, and educator working at the intersection of art, journalism, and social justice. Rivas' work challenges mainstream narratives about Indigenous peoples, builds awareness about issues affecting Native communities across Turtle Island, and acts as a visual message to honor those in the shadows of our society.

Rivas is offering a limited selection of fine art prints from his breakout series of photographs created at Standing Rock, North Dakota. Rivas spent seven months living at Standing Rock as a part of the community of Indigenous peoples and their allies from across the planet that gathered to protect Indigenous sovereignty and water rights against the encroachment of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Rivas describes this transformative moment in history, and in his own life, as an awakening.
